While his brilliant Barossa reds get the majority of the attention, Peter Schell's white wines are some of the finest in the Barosa and should be noted. His ability to coax texture and complexity out of seemingly any variety is nothing short of remarkable.
Here he makes a great fist of Vermentino. Vermentino is a rugged, hardy variety that Schell says ripens relatively slowly here in the Barossa, retaining acidity while delivering generous texture. This is long and pure, with a nutty complexity alongside a seaside freshness and zippy natural acidity. It drinks beautifully.
Another delicious delivery from Spinifex, and the ultimate fish and chips companion!
