Lager & Pilsners
Lagers are beers that are bottom-fermenting and conditioned at low temperatures. The development of refrigeration in the early 19th century allowed brewers to produce lagers year-round, becoming a more common beer throughout Europe. The word lager comes from the German “lagern” (to store), and it is in Bavaria that the drink finds its origins.
