- Collector Tiger Tiger Chardonnay – $35.90
One of our absolute favourite Chardonnays!
Made from 100% Tumbarumba fruit, Canberrans proudly claim this gem their local 🙂
“Almost colourless. Lightly reductive, very zesty nose. Mmm. Really fills the palate with ripe, friendly fruit but has the drive and zest to keep it all racy. There has been a little evolution already. Quite long.” – Jancis Robinson
2. Linnaea Bardo Barbera D’Asti – $36.90
2017 brought abundant sunshine and rainbows to this bio-friendly vineyard high up in the Monferrato Hills.
A journey that began on a fresh and a dewy October morning to prevent that moment of radiant brightness has ended in a wine which offers mountains of fruit intensity and that delightful altitude-forged tautness.
3. Dr. Loosen Riesling Kabinett – $39.90
Almond and vanilla cream are co-mingled with melon and apple on a palate of satiny, lees-enhanced richness and vivid buoyancy.
This manages to soothe and refresh in an unbeatable if not inimitable 2008 way, with brown spices and crushed stone adding complexity to its lingering finish.
4. Shaw + Smith Chardonnay – $79.90
This wine enjoys huge popularity within the wine-enthusiast-community.
The quality of fruit here is simply outstanding, as is the care taken during the winemaking process. If classy, cool-climate Chardonnay is your thing, this is a beautiful Australian example that will find a very happy place in Dad’s cellar.
5. Warrabilla Durif – $39.90
For the Dad, who loves his wines big & bold:
Parola’s are only made in exceptional vintages and are the epitome of the Warrabilla style.
A style characterised by: impenetrable colour, extraordinary depth of fruit flavour and walls of tannin. Incredible structure & balance.
Notes: black cherry, creamy integrated oak… big wine.
6. Le Volte Dell’Ornellaia – $45.90
Le Volte dell’Ornellaia combines the Mediterranean expression of opulence and generosity with structure and complexity.
The approachable style of Le Volte dell’Ornellaia, a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, reflects the philosophy and savoir-faire of Ornellaia.
A great companion to bolognaise, try it!
7. Mount Majura Little Dam Tempranillo – $75.00
The Little Dam block is hard, with red soil so rich in iron the pebbles are magnetic.
The 2018 is very characteristic of this site, leading with violets and ash, the fruit restrained but fresh with blueberry notes, and very fine but firm tannins building length into the palate.
8. Chateauneuf-du-Pape – $86.90
An exclusive Chateauneuf-du-Pape that is one of our favorite discoveries from the Rhone Valley. Tiny producer, great price and delicious bottle of wine make this a real winner.
The new 2017 was rated by the Revue du Vin de France (France’s most respected wine publication) as one of the 4 best Châteauneuf du Pape of the vintage – alongside Rayas, Capo de Pegau and Clos du Mont Olivet (at a price far less than those)!
A great buy for any French Wine Lover. Oui Oui Oui!
9. Cullen Wines Dianna Madeline – $129.90
How much do you love your Dad?
An exceptional wine for an exceptional guy, look no further. Huon Hook from the Real Review said this:
“Deep, bright, youthful, concentrated purple/red colour which stains the glass. The aroma is fresh and young, fruit-driven and impressively concentrated; essency, with masses of blueberry, cassis, violet and blackberry flavours, underlined by a firm tannin backbone. There is cedar aplenty and loads of cabernet character. The tannins are very firm and it needs more time to mellow. The concentration has ramped up to a new level here. A high-quality wine of enormous potential. (79% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot, 6% cabernet franc, 5% malbec, aged in 50% new oak)
COMPLEX! $129.90 SHOP HERE
10. Chambers Grand Muscat – $57.90
This wine displays a delightful intense combination of fruit and spice flavours with a lingering finish. The grapes for this wine are picked when the berries are fully ripe and mostly shrivelled.
Great to enjoy with rich cakes, desserts or just savour by itself.
