Planted in 1960 this elevated site yields small, intense berries that possess great intensity of flavour without sacrificing balance and poise.
Heroic in style, it still retains the cooler edge and tighter structure that make the great wines from Eden Valley famous.
Torbreck is the name of a forest near Inverness, Scotland. You’ll find more than a passing nod to the Celts in our wine naming conventions including this reference to the stone burial grounds on the hills above the Torbreck forest – eerily similar to the rocky outcrops surrounding Greg and Cynthia Knight’s small plot of Shiraz in the Eden Valley.
