Tasmania offers the perfect growing conditions for Pinot Noir, and the Stefano Lubiana Il Giardino Pinot Noir utilises those conditions perfectly. With the name Il Giardino (Italian for "the garden"), this wine comes from a small block located next to the original vegetable garden, which now mainly grows wild mustard. Like the mustard, the Pinot is a bit wild but shows beautiful fruit and acid tension, as well as some tannin bite, which will all meld together seamlessly over the coming years, but it's still a great drop already. This rich and ripe Pinot will pair excellently with duck breast or even a rich Indian curry.
