This Whisky Trek tenth anniversary bottling is reportedly a blend from all 'Whisky Trek' editions and features robust notes of roasted malt, butterscotch, tropical fruits, and spicy pepper. Launched in 2015 by Säntis Malt and local mountain landlords, Whisky Trek is considered the highest whisky tour in the world. There are 26 participating mountain huts, each holding their own distinct barrel of Säntis Malt. While the base distillate is the same, each barrel is aged at a different altitude and in different wood (e.g., sherry, port, red wine, rum, or cognac casks), resulting in 26 distinct flavour profiles. For this limited edition the outturn was 1600 bottles at 48% Alc./Vol.
