This beer pours a wonderful slightly hazy, golden straw colour. It is topped by a thick two to three fingers of white foam, which subsides fairly quickly. The aroma is not strong, but you candetect slight floral notes along with the Belgian yeast-driven banana and bready-ness. It is described on the bottle as an Abbey Pale Ale, though this is the way the beer is marketed in America.
It truly presents more as a tripel style. The taste is a brilliant balance of sweet biscuit malt, summer fruits (pineapple and grapefruit) along with a citrusy zest and slight peppery prickle from the soft spices and hops. The beer is crisp and clean, with goodcarbonation and a slightly dry finish.
