The same family has owned Château Bel-Air in Pomerol since 1914 and Château Beausejour in Fronsac for five generations. A 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc blend, Chateau Beausejour typically sees 12-18 months in French oak barrels. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Enticing red currant, red liquorice and mulberry scents drift from the glass followed by some subtlety toasted vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco and fresh herb notes. The mid weighted palate is layered with rich red currant and red liquorice fruits. Earth, vanillin cedar and spicy tobacco characters linger in the background. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and bright acidity. Concludes with elegance and a touch rustic. Cellar 5-6 years.
